Production bound and bradded 93-page actor's script for the Roundabout Theater production of the Kander and Ebb stage musical Cabaret. In this production Brooke Shields played the charismatic but tragic lead, "Sally Bowles." The script is heavily annotated, marked, highlighted, and dogeared making this Shields' principle production copy of the script. Included in the annotations are pronunciation notes, blocking, character observations, directions, and more. On the upper right corner is handwritten, "Brooke" and on the upper left, "Deeper Voice." On the first page of Act One Scene Four, Shields' has written at the top of the page, "Make it Work Dramatically!" The actress's notes on her tour de force, title song show closer bears notes such as "Slowly," "Out of body experience," "BELT," "Fosse," and more. There are even copious notes on the back cover of the script. A rich insight into the production of live theater, a serious actor's process, and Brooke Shields's personal creative vision.
