300, 2007, Warner Bros.. Production used (2) grisly miniatures constructed of cast silicone latex including 1-decapitated head with applied hair and wood shaft arrow with black fletching inserted through mouth, and 1-forearm with hand. Both are highly detailed, adding to one of the most shocking moments in the film. As the Spartans make their way to Thermopylae, they stumble upon a horrifying sight left behind by the Persians: a "Tree of the Dead" crafted from the bodies of a massacred village. This gruesome scene came about during the screenplay rewrite when Warner Bros. requested that Zack Snyder and co-writer Kurt Johnstad create a moment that highlighted the devastation caused by the Persian invasion of Greece. Johnstad had heard a similar tale from the Balkan Wars and suggested it to Snyder. In the DVD commentary, Johnstad explained: "This is actually based on a true story... someone told me about a village in the Balkans where the entire population was found hanging from a tree. I took that chilling concept and incorporated it into the film because it was such a terrifying image." Measuring from 2.5 in. to 4.5 x 2 x 1.25 in. Exhibiting production wear and handling. In production used very good condition. Accompanied by COA.
