2 Interoffice Memos for Star Trek Original Series

Collection of 19-onion skin mimeographed pages of (2) detailed interoffice memos from Bob Justman to Gene Roddenberry regarding Season 2, Episode 12: "The Deadly Years." The cover page is original, typed. Including 1-memo dated June 23, 1967 regarding the 1st Draft Script written by David Harmon, which reads in part, "You may be surprised to discover that I consider this a very fine first draft screenplay. Very unusual for a first-time writer on our series to come up with something this close to a shootable version. Granted the script is over-long and our characters quite often say the wrong things at the wrong time, but the script is the sort of script we attempt to get and it is replete with excitement and suspense." With names handwritten in red ink at the top of the first page, "Gregg Peters, Fred Phillips," and "Bill Thesis," and signed "Bob" in black ink on the last page. The second memo is dated July 7, 1967 regarding the 2nd Draft by David Harmon, and reads in part, "We still have not cleaned up my objections to the sequence between Kirk and Janet. I refer especially to Page 11, wherein Janet indicates to Kirk what a wonderful man her husband was. My objection is that we do not let the audience know that she married her husband long after she and Kirk had decided to split up and go their separate ways." Signed "Bob" in black ink on the last page. Exhibiting handling and age. In vintage very good condition.
