One of a kind, original 19th Century engraved French wood block in shadow box frame display. In the early 1960s, Vincent Price lent his famous name to a collection of original art pieces available for sale to fledgling collectors through Sears Roebuck & Co. Beginning in October 1962, Sears first sold pieces in their Denver Colorado Store. Pieces could be bought for between $10 to $3000 and quickly sold out. Artists included Rembrandt, Durer, Goya, Picasso, Calder, Toulouse-Lautrec and others. The popularity of the collection allowed Sears to offer such pieces in all of their US stores and printed catalogs until 1971. This example, displayed in its original frame from the time of sale, of a silvered wooden shadow box with black felted interior. Retaining Vincent Price and Sears Collection stickers and museum quality title card describing the general materials on the verso. Hanging hardware present. Exhibiting some tearing to the backing paper and toning to some of the paperwork on the verso. In vintage very good condition.
