Studio bound and bradded 115-multicolor page Revised Shooting Final script is bound in an orange paper cover, dated May 12, 1954, and attributed to writers Phoebe and Henry Ephron (interestingly, Nora Ephron's parents), based on an Original Story by Lamar Trotti. In this Irving Berlin musical comedy, Monroe's sensual rendition of "Heat Wave" was a landmark in the establishment of the movie star's mystique and caused a scandal at the time of release. The king of American variety show TV of the era, Ed Sullivan, described the performance as "one of the most flagrant violations of good taste." The first interior title page includes handwritten notes in red ink that list the start and finish dates of filming, as well as the names of the producer, director, and camera operator. Monroe co-starred and held her own with established musical greats including Ethel Merman as "Molly Donahue", Mitzi Gaynor as "Katy Donahue", and Donald O'Connor as "Tim Donahue" in the ensemble. This copy of the script is attributed to production with Sol C. Siegel, director Walter Lang's, and other key players' names handwritten in red ink on the interior coupon page. Blue revision pages are dated, 5/14/54, 7/9/54, and 8/9/54. Exhibiting age, production wear, and handling. In vintage very good condition.
