Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, 1999, Lucasfillm. Lightsaber constructed of solid-cast resin hilt, expertly studio painted in a sleek semi-gloss black, with an attached CG-green “blade" made of tooled aluminum painted fluorescent green and covered with a clear plastic heat-shrink material - a detail only present on true dueling lightsaber props from this film. When he returned to the Star Wars cinematic universe, George Lucas promised fans a depiction of Jedi at their peak. To achieve more dynamic lightsaber combat than seen before, Lucas enlisted stunt performer Nick Gillard to choreograph a new martial arts-inspired fighting style. The actors, including Ewan McGregor, Liam Neeson, and Ray Park, underwent extensive training to perform their own intense fight sequences. Known for his demand for speed and intensity on set, Lucas oversaw the iconic three-way lightsaber battle that became a highlight of Episode I - The Phantom Menace. Measuring an impressive 49 x 1 x 1 in. Exhibiting signs of age and wear, including rubbing to the hilt paint and battle-scarring on the blade. In very good condition.
