The Rolling Stones, 1969, The Rolling Stones. This iconic psychedelic cardstock poster, designed by David Byrd, measures 14 x 21.5 in. From the artist: "I created this poster in September 1969 for Allen Klein, the Stones manager. It was based on Muybridge's 'Figures in Motion', against an Islamic motif. The box at the bottom was for the venue(s). Mick Jagger commented that he thought it "looks like you in drag." This was the tour that ended in the notorious Hells Angels incident at Altamont in 1970. This poster pretty much was forgotten and was not included in the Art of Rock, (AOR). Ink line and transparent dyes on white board. Figure on toned paper in pencil and chalk." This poster is a must-have for any serious rock memorabilia collector. It represents a historic time for the Stones, marking the debut of Mick Taylor on guitar and the band's unforgettable performances. David Byrd's design is a timeless piece of rock art that captures the essence of the Rolling Stones' larger-than-life persona, and its vivid imagery continues to define the era.
